Certification levels

Personnel certification – is the establishment of the conformity of the qualitative characteristics of personnel (education, level of professional competence) to the requirements of domestic (international) standards and determining its capacity to properly implement specific actions in the field of project management.

The National standard RK СТ ISO 21500-2014 «Project Management Guide»:

– is adopted as one of the guidelines allowing to achieve more efficient project management and to establish an effective information exchange between project participants.
– helps to implement strategic planning and productive goal-setting and is used in organizations of any type, including public ones.

Level I - «Project Manager»
 
Characteristic:
The project manager is able to apply knowledge in the field of project management and can be involved in the project as one of the team members, but his general knowledge is not sufficient to perform more complex tasks.
Requirements for admission to the exam:
Civil servants and employees of the quasi-public sector with experience in the project team or members of the project management staff:
– Higher education;
– Experience in the field of projects for at least one year;
– Availability of a training certificate for at least 35 hours of project management or completed (attended) a course in project management in a higher educational institution in the number of at least two credits.
Exam: testing, 2 hours, 60 questions.
Cost: 30000 tenge.
Confirmation of qualification: every 5 years

Level II - «Program Manager»
 
Characteristic:
The program manager is able to manage the program, and not only a single individual project, using appropriate resources, methodology and tools, which are subject to certification.
Requirements for admission to the exam:
– Senior and middle managers involved in the management of projects and programs of central and local executive bodies, state and subordinate organizations;
– Experience in the field of projects for at least two years;
– availability of a certificate for Level I (Project Manager).
Exam: practical exam – essay (or project protection), 1.5 hours.
Cost: 22 500 tenge.
Confirmation of qualification: every 5 years

Level III - «Portfolio Manager»

Characteristic:
The portfolio manager is able to manage the portfolio, make key management decisions, approve candidatures for projects.
Requirements for admission to the exam:
– Senior executives involved in the management of projects and programs of central and local executive bodies, state and subordinate organizations;
– Experience in the field of projects for at least three years;
– Availability of a certificate for Levels I and II (Project Manager and Program Manager);
Examination: interview, 1 hour.
Cost: 15 000 tenge.
Confirmation of qualification: every 5 years

TC - level – «Coach consultant»

Characteristic:
The trainer-consultant is able to manage the project, teach project management.
Requirements for admission to the exam:
– Specialists with experience in developing and implementing requirements, processes, methods, techniques, tools, textbooks and project management guidelines;
– Experience in the field of projects for at least three years or experience of pedagogical activity in the field of project management of at least 200 academic hours.
– availability of a certificate for I, II and III levels (Project, Program and Portfolio Manager);
– availability of project management training certificates based on IPMA / P2M / PRINCE 2 / PMBOK Standards.
Exam: complex (testing, practical examination, interview), 4.5 hours.
Cost: 67 500 tenge.
