On October 31, in the city of Almaty, a republican scientific and practical conference “National Values: Cognition. Legacy. Honest Citizen” took place, jointly organized by the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Academy of National Values, and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
The goal of the conference was to discuss ways to ensure the integrity of education and upbringing based on national values in the context of opportunities and risks of the digital society, to share best practices, and to consider the relevance of the principles of an honest citizen.
Among the conference participants were members of Parliament, members of the National Kurultai, representatives of the “Amanat” party, authorized bodies in the fields of science, education, and culture, academic and research centers, regional education departments and methodological centers, scholars, university professors, teachers, doctoral and master’s students, Maslikhat deputies, representatives of public organizations, publishing houses, and textbook developers.
As part of the conference, Elmira Orazaliyeva, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, delivered a plenary presentation titled “Honest Citizen: Values of Personal Development.”
The main discussion points were structured around the renewal of the “Honest Citizen” principles within the current state-level content framework, emphasizing their connection with personality studies and the historical-cognitive aspect, as well as addressing the tasks of educating the modern generation in accordance with the target indicators of the education system.
In conclusion, the concept of an was defined as a combination of subjective personal qualities, harmony of patriotic feelings, integrity, and civic identity, as well as a set of moral-legal, cultural-cognitive, and political values.
