A public and political dialogue titled “Integrating Climate Policy into Kazakhstan’s Public Governance System” was held at the Academy. The event was organized by the Scientific and Educational Center Green Academy in cooperation with the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, with the support of the Astana Department of Environmental Protection and Natural Resource Management, the FAO project, and SIPA/IDDRI (France).
The purpose of the event was to discuss the outcomes of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP30), held in Belém, Brazil, as well as to develop recommendations on integrating climate policy principles into the strategic planning and public administration system of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The event brought together representatives of government bodies, members of parliament, representatives of civil society organizations, as well as master’s and doctoral students of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Participants emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation among government institutions, the private sector, and international organizations to effectively implement the strategy for achieving carbon neutrality by 2060. The recommendations developed during the dialogue (by Lyudmila Petrova, Director of the NGO Angel) will be submitted to the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Proposals are accepted until 10 December 2025.
