Format of the program – full-time. This means that in case of successfully passing the competitive selection process and getting admitted into the Academy, you will start your studies on September 1, having previously concluded a tripartite agreement.
If you do not reside in Nur-Sultan, if necessary, you will be provided with a dormitory for civil servants, which is located in a picturesque place on the Left Bank of the capital, opposite to the Botanical Garden.
The first week of September will be an orientation and introductory week, during which you will get acquainted with the Academy and teachers. You will be introduced to the educational process – of what it consists of, what we expect from you, and what you should expect from the Academy. Classes will be held in the historic building of the Academy, which is located in the business center of the Right Bank of the capital.
Duration of the study program– 1 year. From September 1 to the end of June next year. You will study 2 full semesters with a winter break, which falls on New Year’s holidays. The second semester is quite intensive: you will undergo practice and internship programs for one month and in June, which would be the last month of study, you will have to defend your master’s project.
Language of instruction. In addition to the language training within the program, you will be able to strengthen your language skills throughout the time of the study, as it takes place in three languages – Kazakh, Russian and English.
Requirements for applicants
to study under the Master’s degree program in International relations:
persons who at the time of submitting documents, are civil servants with at least two years of public service experience in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, or central state bodies and their territorial subdivisions, local state bodies of the Republic of Kazakhstan dealing with issues of international cooperation are allowed to the state educational order
at the expense of individuals and legal entities or other sources not prohibited by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, persons with at least two years of general experience at the time of filing documents are allowed;
at the expense of the Astana Hub grant in the field of public service, employees of foreign ministries and civil servants of the participating countries of the Astana Hub in the field of public service who have at least two years of public service experience at the time of submitting documents in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan are allowed.

QAZAQ RESMI TEST certificate (https://www.qrt.kz) or KAZTEST (http://kazakhtest.kz), confirming the level of proficiency in the state language not lower than B1, with the exception of foreign citizens;
one of the international certificates confirming the level of foreign language proficiency in accordance with the Pan-European competencies (standards) of English language proficiency, IELTS less than 4.0 points, TOEFL ITP not lower than 460 points or TOEFL IBT not lower than 57 points, APTIS not lower than level B1 (CEFR), TOEIC not less than 381 points, PIPPLET not lower than level B2 (CEFR);
At the same time, the Academy, in cooperation with the PIPPLET operator, provides organizational assistance for passing this test.
for civil servants of the Republic of Kazakhstan — a track record certified by the personnel service at the place of work; for other applicants – a document confirming employment;
an electronic application signed with an electronic digital signature (EDS), foreign citizens print out the application generated in the Academy’s information system, sign it and upload a signed scanned version of the application.
Educational documents issued by foreign educational organizations are recognized in accordance with the procedure established by law.
Documents in a foreign language are provided with a notarized translation into Kazakh or Russian.
The order of the competition
The competitive selection for the Master’s degree programs on-the-job with a one-year of full-study consists of two stages:
Stage 1: writing an essay.
Stage 2: interviews in the state, Russian and English languages
The decision on enrollment in the Academy is made on the basis of the final assessment of the applicant who has successfully passed all stages of the competitive selection.
The final score is a set of points obtained by summing up the evaluation of the results of the competitive selection, taking into account their specific weight.
